Would love to give it five stars, but there is a serious workmanship flaw.First, it is a very nice, sturdily made piece of furniture. Surprisingly good materials. The drawers are furniture grade plywood, with the bottom of the lower drawer also plywood. The bottom of the upper drawer is a hardboard. Bottom and back are enclosed, the back with screwed-on hardboard and the bottom with plywood. The feet, which you have to screw on (easy), are solid wood. Finish is very nice and uniform. All in all a very nice piece of furniture, and well worth the price I paid ($112). My original order was for two, and they arrived packed in such a way you would need an act of war to damage the furniture inside. But, one of the first two arrived with the bottom drawer glide broken and detached. As I said above, they were not damaged in shipping, unless just the tossing and turning in shipment caused the break. Amazon was excellent, immediately shipping a replacement and return shipping was free. Somewhat inconvenient to repackage, but that is par for the course with online shopping. The second one arrived packaged differently, still exceptionally well packed but not to the extreme of the first shipment. I unpacked and heard something rattling around. Three of the four knobs came unscrewed during shipment, and the screws fell inside the fame structure. Like I said above, the bottom and back are enclosed, so while dust stays out, everything else stays in.I unscrewed the back, which was less effort than returning another unit for replacement, and retrieved the screws. But, I noticed the drawer glides for both drawers, stamped Kenlin, were cracked because the furniture manufacturer added a third screw to the assembly, clearly not the intent of the glide manufacturer, and the extra screw cracked the plastic. Attached is a picture of a similar (if not the same) glide. You can see the glide manufacturer intended two screws. Imagine if a third screw was forced into the plastic near the T in Trak - the plastic will split. This is what happened. The drawer glides will eventually fail. I don't know what the impact of the failure will be, maybe a periodic inconvenience of a drawer pulling out if extended too far, but it is an intrinsic defect. I am confident I can fix such a failure when it happens, and the quality of the furniture itself is great, as was the price, so I kept both (one from my original order, and the replacement)In short, unless you are willing to repair the inevitable failure, this is not for you. If you are willing, it is a very nice very well priced piece of furniture which is otherwise well made.I ordered two nightstands. The items were well packed and They weren’t damaged in shipping. One nightstand was in good condition. The other nightstand had a damaged drawer. One corner was not glued together and the wood was split. The drawer guide for the drawer was also damaged. Rather than sending it back I made repairs myself.Overall I think the nightstands were overpriced and I think the damage to the drawer was done at the factory prior to the item being packed.Arrived earlier than I expected being furniture seems backordered. One of the night stands came damaged. Not happy about that. The other one was fine and we liked it.Ugh. Read reviews but thought I’d try my luck. ?? It arrived in my driveway and I lumbered it into the house and up the stairs. The outer box had some damage but not enough to make time think it was the culprit. The inner box looked fine and it was packed securely with a sturdy mdf foot and lots of styrofoam. The feet and directions are both inside the bottom drawer which had a piece of styrofoam in it so I couldn’t open it. In trying to get the bottom drawer open, I realized the track of the top drawer is broken. There is no way for me to fix it because the screw that’s loose is inside the track. The drawers do not come out, either. Regardless, they are very cheaply made. The outside of this piece and the inside are vastly different pieces of furniture. I paid $150 for this and was leery but it is DEFINITELY not worth that price. The outside is traditional, elegant. I bought it to match one of my daughters’ beds since her line had been discontinued. It’s a dark cherry, browner than red, as you can see in the picture. Another picture shows the loose screw on the track on the upper drawer. Not a big problem but because the way the cheap track goes together, it can’t be fixed. One picture shows what it should look like from the bottom drawer and one picture shows the broken bottom drawer with the directions stuck behind it. Drawers are rather thin pine and not truly dovetailed. At this price, they should be. Oh, and there was all this masking tape on the bottom of both drawers like it had been holding them together. Also don’t have any drawer stops for when the drawers close against the body. A few little silicone stoppers wouldGo a long way here. Overall, disappointed. Looks nice but cheap.I like the fact that it is sturdy. The lines, drawers, knobs are well put together. It was scratched in one spot. That was the only problem I had. Highly recommend.I am quite pleased with these nightstands. One of the drawers requires a bit of a jiggle to close it all the way but they are otherwise very nice.Very reasonably priced making it a good value for a solid piece of furniture. One other review mentioned how well packaged it was, and I thought, "well, maybe," until I received it. Styrofoam and other insulation protected every piece including drawers. Every drawer slid easily and the feet were very easy to install.
