This is a large, but relatively thin book which provides a light introduction to the topic. The photographs are interesting and as with most coffee-table books are its primary strength. The text is poor with a focus on informing the homeowner on ways of achieving a Victorian feel to decoration of the contemporary house. If that is one's goal, then this is a very helpful book. Unfortunately, it was not my interest.
